No Makeup Challenge: Day 1

Hello everyone ! I am embarking on a new challenge in the new year:  to wear a little less makeup.  While I love wearing makeup just as much as the next girl, it is important to remember that the skin is not necessarily meant to be covered up.  This is especially true for the face, as oil and dirt can clog our pores and eventually lead to massive breakouts.  This challenge will last as long as I can make it last--I am aiming for a few weeks.  It has been years since I have gone that long without wearing foundation, so I am very interested to see how my skin reacts.  Other makeup items, however, such as mascara and lipstick are not off limits, as these items typically do not break my skin out.

In addition to not wearing any foundation, I am implementing a few new products into my routine.  For moisturizer, I am now using the Aveeno Active Naturals Daily Moisturizing Lotion

Here is a picture of what my skin looks like right now:

As I come up with various changed in my skin routine I will keep you all posted ! xoxo

L'oreal Colour Riche Nail Polish Review

While at the drug store this weekend, I had the pleasure of picking up a L'oreal Colour Riche nail polish in the shade, 'Not a cloud in sight'.

As you can see, this is a very vibrant, bright blue color which is great for the spring and summer.  This reminds me of a pool :)

This is what the color looked like on the first day of application:

After only applying two coats, you can tell that this polish has yielded a very shiny, thick coat.  This polish also claims to last ten days--so far, so good ! I highly recommend this product because it is comparable to nail polishes like OPI or Essie, for a much lower price.

Homemade Sushi

Yesterday I decided to take on the task of making homemade sushi.  This is partly driven because I dont want to have to buy the sushi and because it is way cheaper to make at home ! Yum !

In order to make the sushi, I had to buy a bamboo sushi mat, sushi rice, rice vinegar, and nori (seaweed).  For the fillings, I used cucumber, avocado, and imitation crab.

Here was the final product...

The key is to have a very sharp knife--cutting the rolls was the part I struggled with the most ! Anyway, enjoy ! xoxo

Dead Sea Mud Mask Review

Hello everyone ! I am back with another review, this time of the amazing Pure & Essential Minerals brand dead sea mud mask.

This mask has minimal scent, which is great, and goes on silky smooth.  The consistency of the mask is somewhat liquidy, but I found this useful because before applying it, it didnt seem as if it would dry out my skin.  There are a variety of oils in this mask, including shea butter, aloe vera, and jojoba oil among others.  The best part about this is that all of the ingredients are organic ! :)

This is what the mask looks like on, and I left it on for roughly 10 minutes before taking it off.  Something else that I really liked was how upon applying the mask, I could feel the grains from the mud exfoliating my face.  This seems like a GREAT product for the summer because it will help exfoliate and provide the skin with nutrients to help restore it from the harsh sun.

After taking the mask off, the pores on my face appeared smaller, and my skin was also nicely moisturized and exfoliated:

I will definitely be doing this mask every week ! An overall amazing product.  You can buy this here:

Here is also a review/demonstration of this product that I did:
